الحَمدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي عَافَانِي فِي جَسَدِي، وَرَدَّ عَلَيَّ رُوحِي، وَأَذِنَ لي بِذِكرِهِ

Pronunciation

Alhamdu lillahil-lathee 'afanee fee jasadee waradda 'alayya roohee wa-athina lee bithikrih

English meaning

All praise is for Allah who restored to me my health and returned my soul and has allowed me to remember Him.

Explanation (Tafseer)

On waking, this prayer praises Allah for three closely linked gifts: bodily health, the return of the soul, and the opportunity to remember Him. Its structure moves from physical restoration to renewed life and then to conscious remembrance.
