The excellence of asking for Allah's blessings upon the Prophet pbuh — Du'a 2

وَقَالَ صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((لاَ تَجعَلُوا قَبرِي عِيداً وَصَلُّوا عَلَيَّ؛ فَإِنَّ صَلاَتَكُم تَبلُغُنِي حَيثُ كُنتُم)).

Approximate Arabic reading aid

Waqāla ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam: lā taj'alū qabrī 'īdan waṣallū 'alayya; fa'inna ṣalātakum tablughunī ḥaythu kuntum.

English meaning

He (PBUH) also said: ‘Do not take my grave as a place of habitual ceremony. Send prayers upon me, for verily your prayers reach me wherever you are.

Explanation (Tafseer)

This instruction warns against turning the Prophet’s grave into a place of habitual ceremony and directs believers to send prayers upon him. It adds that those prayers reach him wherever they are offered, so the wording does not make their delivery dependent on physical location.
