The excellence of asking for Allah's blessings upon the Prophet pbuh — Du'a 5

وَقَالَ صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((مَا مِن أَحَدٍ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيَّ إِلاَّ رَدَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ رُوحِيَ حَتَّى أَرُدَّ عَلَيهِ السَّلاَمَ)).

Approximate Arabic reading aid

Waqāla ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam: mā min aḥadin yusallimu 'alayya illā radda allāhu 'alayya rūḥiya ḥattā arudda 'alayhi as-salāma.

English meaning

The Prophet [PBUH] said: 'No one sends greetings (or prayers of peace) upon me but Allah returns my soul to me so that I may return his greetings

Explanation (Tafseer)

This statement presents sending peace upon the Prophet as a greeting that receives a response. Its focus is the connection made through salutation: the believer offers peace, and Allah returns the Prophet’s soul so that he may return that greeting. The wording keeps Allah as the One who enables the response.
