Invocation for someone you have spoken ill to

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((اللَّهُمَّ فَأَيُّمَا مُؤمِنٍ سَبَبتُهُ فَاجعَل ذَلِكَ لَهُ قُربَةً إِلَيكَ يَومَ القِيَامَةِ)).

Approximate Arabic reading aid

Qāla an-nabiyyu ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam: allāhumma fa'ayyumā mu'minin sababtuhu faj'al dhalika lahu qurbatan ilayka yawma alqiyāmati.

English meaning

O Allah, to any believer whom I have insulted, let that be cause to draw him near to You on the Day of Resurrection.

Explanation (Tafseer)

This supplication asks Allah to transform hurtful words spoken against a believer into a cause of that person’s nearness to Him on the Day of Resurrection. Rather than leaving the insult as the final word, the prayer asks Allah to give the affected believer a better outcome from it.
