Talbiyah — The pilgrim's announcement of his arrival for Hajj or Umrah

لَبَّيكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيكَ، لَبَّيكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيكَ، إِنَّ الحَمدَ، وَالنِّعمَةَ، لَكَ وَالمُلكَ، لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ

Pronunciation

Labbaykal lahumma labbayk, labbayka la shareeka laka labbayk, innal hamda wanni'mata laka walmulk, la shareeka lak

English meaning

Here I am O Allah, (in response to Your call), here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise, grace and sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner.

Explanation (Tafseer)

The Talbiyah is a repeated declaration of answering Allah’s call. It affirms that Allah has no partner and that all praise, blessing, and sovereignty belong to Him alone. Its phrases combine readiness, gratitude, and pure monotheism, making the pilgrim’s response entirely centered on Allah.
