كَانَ النَّبيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا أَتَاهُ أَمرٌ يَسُرُّهُ أَو يُسَرُّ بِهِ خَرَّ سَاجِداً شُكراً لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى

English meaning
The Prophet PBUH would prostrate in gratitude to Allah upon receiving news which pleased him or which caused pleasure.
Explanation (Tafseer)
This passage describes responding to pleasing news with a prostration of gratitude to Allah. Joy is expressed physically as worship and thanks to Him. The action connects the happiness caused by the news with immediate acknowledgment of Allah rather than leaving the response only as an inward feeling.
