The excellence of remembering Allah — Du'a 1

قَالَ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَن قَالَ: سُبحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمدِهِ فِي يَومٍ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ حُطَّت خَطَايَاهُ وَلَو كَانَت مِثلَ زَبَدِ البَحر)).

Approximate Arabic reading aid

Qāla ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam man qāla: subḥāna allāhi wabiḥamdihi fī yawmin mi'ata marratin ḥuṭṭat khaṭāyāhu walaw kānat mithla zabadi albaḥr.

English meaning

Whoever says:(How perfect Allah is and I praise Him.) a hundred times during the day, his sins are wiped away, even if they are like the foam of the sea.

Explanation (Tafseer)

“Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi” combines declaring Allah free of imperfection with praising Him. The passage assigns the phrase a daily repetition of one hundred times and states that sins are wiped away even if they resemble the sea’s foam. Its two parts hold glorification and praise together.
