The excellence of remembering Allah — Du'a 2

وَقَالَ صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((مَن قَالَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ المُلكُ، وَلَهُ الحَمدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيءٍ قَدِيرٌ عَشرَ مِرَارٍ، كَانَ كَمَن أَعتَقَ أَربَعَةَ أَنفُسٍ مِن وَلَدِ إِسمَاعِيلَ)).

Approximate Arabic reading aid

Waqāla ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam: man qāla lā ilāha illā allāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahu almulku, walahu alḥamdu, wahuwa 'alā kulli shay'in qadīrun 'ashra mirārin, kāna kaman a'taqa arba'ata anfusin min waladi ismā'īla.

English meaning

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘Whoever says: (None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent.) a hundred times during the day, has the reward of freeing ten slaves, a hundred good deeds are recorded for him and a hundred bad deeds are wiped away and he has gained refuge from the devil that day until evening and none shall come with anything better except someone who has done more.

Explanation (Tafseer)

This remembrance declares that only Allah deserves worship, that He is alone without partner, that sovereignty and praise belong to Him, and that He has power over everything. Each clause strengthens the same theme of complete divine uniqueness, moving from worship to dominion, praise, and unlimited ability.
