The excellence of remembering Allah — Du'a 8

وَقَالَ صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((أَحَبُّ الكَلاَمِ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَربَعٌ: سُبحَانَ اللَّهِ، وَالحَمدُ لِلَّهِ، وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، وَاللَّهُ أَكبَرُ، لاَ يَضُرُّكَ بِأَيِّهِنَّ بَدَأتَ)).

Approximate Arabic reading aid

Waqāla ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam: aḥabbu alkalāmi ilā allāhi arba'un: subḥāna allāhi, wal-ḥamdu lillāhi, walā ilāha illā allāhu, wallāhu akbaru, lā yaḍurruka bi'ayyihinna bada'ata.

English meaning

the most beloved words to Allah are four: (How perfect Allah is, all praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah and Allah is the greatest.))(it does not matter which of them you start with.

Explanation (Tafseer)

This remembrance gathers four statements beloved to Allah: “Subhanallah,” “Alhamdulillah,” “La ilaha illallah,” and “Allahu Akbar.” They express Allah’s perfection, His right to all praise, His exclusive right to worship, and His greatness. The passage also says that the speaker may begin with any of them.
