يَقُولُ مِثلَ مَا يَقُولُ المُؤَذِّنُ إِلاَّ فِي ((حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَحَيَّ عَلَى الفَلَاحِ)) فَيقُولُ: ((لاَ حَولَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ)).

Approximate Arabic reading aid

Yaqūlu mithla mā yaqūlu almu'adhdhinu illā fī ḥayya 'alā aṣ-ṣalāti waḥayya 'alā alfalāḥi fayqūlu: lā ḥawla walā quwwata illā billāhi.

English meaning

‘One repeats just as the mu-aththin (one who calls to prayer) says, except when he says: Hayya AAalas-salah (or) hayya AAalal-falah ‘come to prayer, come to success’ instead, one should say: La hawla wala quwwata illa billah. ‘There is no might nor power except with Allah.’

Explanation (Tafseer)

Upon hearing the call to prayer, this entry directs the listener to repeat the caller’s words. At the invitations to prayer and success, however, the response changes to an acknowledgment that there is no might or power except with Allah.
