اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسأَلُكَ الجَنَّةَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ

Pronunciation

Allahumma innee as-alukal-jannah, wa-a'oothu bika minan-nar

English meaning

O Allah, I ask You to grant me Paradise and I take refuge in You from the Fire.

Explanation (Tafseer)

This brief supplication places the final hope and final fear side by side: it asks Allah for Paradise and seeks His protection from the Fire. Its simplicity makes the two destinations the sole focus of the request before the prayer ends.
