Pronunciation

Astaghfirullaaha wa 'atoobu 'ilayhi

English meaning

‘I seek Allaah’s forgiveness and I turn to Him in repentance.’ [one hundred times a day]

Explanation (Tafseer)

This remembrance combines seeking forgiveness with turning back to Allah. The first phrase acknowledges the need for sins to be forgiven, while the second expresses repentance as an active return. Repeating it through the day keeps admission of fault joined to renewed direction rather than leaving repentance as words alone.
