اللَّهُمَّ اكفِنِي بِحَلاَلِكَ عَن حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغنِنِي بِفَضلِكِ عَمَّن سِوَاكَ

Pronunciation

Allahummak-finee bihalalika 'an haramik, wa-aghninee bifadlika 'amman siwak

English meaning

O Allah, make what is lawful enough for me, as opposed to what is unlawful, and spare me by Your grace, of need of others.

Explanation (Tafseer)

This prayer asks Allah to make lawful provision sufficient so that unlawful means are unnecessary. It then asks for enrichment through His grace that removes dependence upon others. The two requests connect material need with moral boundaries and place genuine sufficiency in Allah’s favor.
