قَدَرُ اللَّهُ وَمَا شَاءَ فَعَلَ

Pronunciation

Qaddaral-lah, wama shaa fa'al

English meaning

Allah has decreed and what He wills, He does.)(for verily ‘If’ lets in the work of the devil.

Explanation (Tafseer)

This statement responds to an unwanted outcome by affirming that Allah decreed and did what He willed. It turns the speaker from endlessly revisiting what might have happened toward acceptance of what occurred, while attributing the final decree and action to Allah.
