اللَّهُمَّ اغفِر لِي، وَارحَمنِي، وَأَلحِقنِي بِالرَّفِيقِ الأَعلَى

Pronunciation

Allahummagh-fir lee, warhamnee wa-alhiqnee birrafeeqil-a'la

English meaning

‘O Allaah, forgive me, have mercy upon me and unite me with the highest companions

Explanation (Tafseer)

This prayer from terminal illness gathers three final requests: forgiveness for faults, mercy from Allah, and reunion with the highest companions. Its few words move from what must be pardoned, to the mercy hoped for, and finally to the company desired beyond this life.
