اللَّهُمَّ اجعَلهُ لَنَا فَرَطاً، وَسَلَفاً، وَأَجراً

Pronunciation

Allahummaj-'alhu lana farata, wasalafan wa-ajra

English meaning

O Allah, make him for us a precursor,a forerunner and a cause of reward

Explanation (Tafseer)

This concise prayer asks that a deceased child become a precursor, a forerunner, and a cause of reward for the family. Its three closely related expressions place the child ahead of those who remain and ask Allah to make the loss a source of recompense.
