Kaffarat al-Majlis — The Expiation of Assembly - Kaffaratul-Majlis

سُبحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمدِكَ، أَشهَدُ أَن لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنتَ، أَستَغفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيكَ

Pronunciation

Subhanakal lahumma wabihamdik, ashhadu an la ilaha illa ant, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk

English meaning

How perfect You are O Allah, and I praise You. I bear witness that None has the right to be worshipped except You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.

Explanation (Tafseer)

Kaffarat al-Majlis gathers praise, testimony, forgiveness, and repentance. It declares Allah perfect, praises Him, affirms that none else deserves worship, then asks His forgiveness and turns back to Him. The sequence closes a gathering with both glorification and personal accountability.
